I'm Still Alive
This is just a message to say I'm still around. There has been a lot of post-holiday activity and blogging has been on the bottom of my "to do" list.I'll get back to it when I feel that I have something worth saying.

Just Taking A Break
I haven't written a post in a while. The holiday was pretty busy.I figured that I would give a little update and a few random thoughts.
1)I got my gf a ring, which now makes her my fiancee.I actually planned things out and put work into this instead of following my usual method of last minute, fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants craziness. It went as well as I possibly could have hoped and am quite proud of myself at how everything turned out.Now it is on to the wedding itself, which I can already see is going to be quite an experience.
2)I got an mp3 player.Believe it or not, I have never owned one before.I have no interest in the small, cheap ones( I have too much music for that little storage space.).The big ones are too much money for me to feel comfortable spending at once. This one will be able to hold about 1/2 of my music. That will do.SO that's one reason I haven't been writing:I've been transferring my music.
One thing I won't be doing much of is buying music online.I am hesitant to buy anything that will stay only on my computer or any piece of elctronics. That means I'm still going to buy CDs, transfer them to my CPU, and then to the player. It seems laborious when I could just buy stuff online and have it within seconds.I think the effort is worth it because I will never fully trust my life to a computer. It is just a machine.Though it is highly doubtful to happen, this computer could crap out tommorrow and I could lose everything on the hard drive. If all of my music was just downloadable files it would all be gone. That and I also appreciate being physically able to possess the CD.A computer can never duplicate the sensation. It's too impersonal.
3)I wrestled again this past Friday in a Texas tornado tag team match. It went mostly well, but we ended the match at least 3 or 4 minutes too soon. The crowd was digging it though. That is what ultimately matters. At one point I went over the top rope, missed the apron, and landed HARD on my unprotected knee and elbow.I walked away with only a scrape on my elbow, which is just gross enough looking to be cool.
Sometimes my luck amazes me.I have never broken a bone in my life(that I know of) and have never had a stitch put in me or an operation. And between wrestling and my storied job history, I've been in more than my fair share of physically dangerous situations.I shot myself in the hand with a nailgun once and the nail just bounced off of the tip of my finger.Last year, I had an SUV on NJ route 287(If you don't live in NJ, that's a major North/South road in Northern Jersey.) almost hit me.I spun around 3 times:once on my side of the road, then once across the median and into the other lanes of traffic, and the third time back across the oppostie lanes of traffic and ended up stalled on the median, facing the right direction.I didn't hit anything more hazardous than a blade of grass.I took a second to gather myself, started my car, and finished my drive home.I've fallen asleep operating power saws(more times than I'm comfortable admitting) and haven't so much as broken a fingernail.I have twice fallen off of 24foot ladders(both times from about halfway up) and got nothing more than a scratched stomach.I once fell 10 feet through a ceiling onto a desk and then onto my head on a concrete floor and just got bruised. It will be interesting to see what finally "breaks" me.I'll probably slip on a banana peel and crack my skull open on some plush carpeting.
